Wishing card for Rosh Hashanah

Greeting card from the Jewish “Esther Orphanage”, for Rosh Hashanah (The Jewish New Year) of the year 5709 (1949).

The “Esther Orphanage” operated in Kifissia from 1945 until 1949. Its primary mission was the care of Jewish children that had lost their parents during the war, and their rehabilitation through immigration to the Land of Israel. At the same time, it provided help to poor Jewish families and functioned as a place for summer camps, but also as a social gathering place, organizing Jewish holidays open to all Jews who had settled in Athens immediately after the war.
