On Thursday 25th May 2017, 25 members of the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, visited the Jewish Museum of Greece. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Dimitris Argyriadis, Secretary of the BoD of the American Friends of the JMG. The distinguished visitors were received by Mr. Samuel (Makis) Matsas, President of the J.M.G. Board of Directors, while the director of the JMG Ms. Zanet Battinou gave them a guided tour of the J.M.G. permanent and temporary exhibitions and talked to them about the museum’s special programmes regarding education and the memory of the Holocaust, about the JMG’s seminars which are held in Athens and in the rest of Greece and are aimed at teachers, about the museum’s international collaborations, the educational tours offered in the museum to student groups, and the J.M.G.’s research work. The Stephen Wise Free Synagogue delegation, is in Greece in order to discuss the global refugee crisis with diplomats and members of the local Greek Jewish community.
