Presentation of the Corpus Inscriptionum Judaicarum Graeciae (CIJG)

On Monday 8 October 2018, the Jewish Museum of Greece (JMG) presented its new academic publication, entitled, “Corpus Inscriptionum Judaicarum Graeciae (CIJG): Corpus of Jewish and Hebrew Inscriptions from Mainland and Island Greece (late 4th c. BCE–15th century)”, at the Archaeological Society at Athens. The President of the JMG BoD Samuel Matsas and the Director General of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Dr. Polyxeni Adam – Veleni addressed the event while Lila Marangou, Professor Emerita of Classical Archaeology, University of Ioannina, Charalambos Kritzas, Director Emeritus of the Epigraphic Museum and Nicholas de Lange, Professor Emeritus of Hebrew and Jewish Studies, University of Cambridge, commented on the publication. Members of the Academy of Athens, members Archaeological Society at Athens, many scholars as well as members of the JMG’s Association of Friends, honored us with their presence. A reception followed the presentation.
