Alexandra Patrikiou conducted a two-hour workshop in English for the use of testimonies in teaching about the Holocaust, as part of the three-day seminar “The Holocaust as a Starting Point. Sharing and Comparing” at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki organized by Mémorial de la Shoah. Teachers from all over Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia attended the workshop, which was based on the testimony of Shelly Rousso. The particular testimony from the JMG Oral History Archive constitutes a significant opportunity for exploring the common Balkan and Ottoman past as well as the transnational nature of the Shoah.
