Museums as Cultural Hubs: The future of tradition
18 May is celebrated all over the world as International Museum Day. Each year, it focuses on a specific issue that relates not only to museums but also to the protection of cultural heritage in general. For 2019, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has chosen the theme “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The future of tradition”.
The Jewish Museum of Greece (JMG) participated this year in the celebration of the International Museum Day on Sunday 19 May 2019. The JMG offered free admission to the public and specially designed educational events, from 10:30 to 13:30.
More than 100 people, members of the Association of Friends, tourists, students, and pensioners visited the museum and were offered a guided tour on both the permanent and the temporary exhibitions by Anastasia Loudarou archaeologist & a JMG researcher.
