Important Visitors 2013

On 13 December 2013, the Israeli Journalist Ms. Guilli Matsa visited the Jewish Museum of Greece and enjoyed a guided tour.

Rabbi Andrew Baker, Personal Representative on Combating Anti-Semitism, had an informal meeting and guided tour with the JMG Director, on Wednesday, 18 September 2013, during which the Museum’s programs and exhibitions on humanistic and Holocaust education were discussed, as well as its firm commitment to promote greater tolerance and combat racism, xenophobia and discrimination in our country. During this meeting he was greeted and conversed with JMG President, Mr. Samuel Matsas.

On Monday 5th August 2013, Mr. Phil Friedman, businessman and philanthropist from New York, visited the JMG together with his son Jeffrey, accompanied by the Israeli Ambassador, Mr. Arieh Mekel. The distinguished visitors were guided through the museum’s exhibitionsand introduced to the museum’s educational programs and current projects. The tour was followed by a meeting with the President of the JMG Board, Mr. Samuel (Makis) Matsas, to whom they expressed their kind wish to actively support the work of the JMG, particularly in relation to Holocaust Education in Greece.

On Friday 24th May 2013, Dr. Mario Silva, Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, visited the Jewish Museum of Greece, while on an official visit during this year’s Canadian Chairmanship of the organisation. Further to his visit at the Museum, Dr. Silva had an official meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the head and members of the Greek Delegation, followed by lunch.

On May 9th 2013, Dr. David Breakstone, of the World Zionist Organization, visited the Jewish Museum of Greece, during an official visit to Greece.


On April 26 2013 a guided tour to members of the Friends of the Acropolis Museum was held, at JMG.

On Tuesday 19th February 2013, the Canadian Ambassador Mr. Robert Peck and Mrs. Zoe Delibasis, Political & Public Affairs Officer, visited the Jewish Museum of Greece. The Director of the JMG, Mrs. Z. Battinou, welcomed the distinguished visitors and guided them through the museum’s permanent exhibition and introduced them to the museum’s educational programs and on going projects.
