In the framework of the celebration of the International Museum Day, 18 May 2018, the Jewish Museum of Greece (JMG) participated this year in the celebration by offering free admission to the public and specially designed educational events, that took place from 10:00 to 12:30, including storytelling and a visual workshop. More than 60 peolpe participated.
As it was already announced, the programme will be repeated for families on Sunday 3 June 2018, from 11:00 to 13:30.
“The forgotten key of a childish love that has never been forgotten”
Two children, Anna and Iakovos, who are in love in prewar Thessaloniki, are separated when Iakovos is deported to Auschwitz. A fire many years later will awaken memories of that time. With her grandson and a friend, Anna starts searching for her beloved. Will they do it? Will they find him?
The story will be told by Eva Kasiarou on the occasion of the publication of her book for children and young people, To xechasmeo kleidi (The forgotten key), illustrated by Kanella Stasinopoulou (Kokkini Klosti Books, 2017).
An artistic workshop with artist Vasilis Thalassinos. This is an artistic rendition of the fairy tale, taking inspiration from the JMG’s permanent exhibition.
