Since it first opened its doors, the Jewish Museum of Greece has been visited by many important personalities, including the following:

1999

  • Mrs. Learie Deutsch, wife of the U.S. senator Mr. Peter Deutsch.
  • Students of the summer courses of the University of New York.
  • American Jews of Greek descent, during a trip organised by the Sephardic House of New York.
  • The American Senator, Ms. Shelley Berkeley.
  • Participants in an ICOM conference on costumes.
  • The former U.S. Ambassador and representative of the Jewish Museum of Canada, Mr. Fromowitz, with his wife. The visit resulted in a collaboration agreement between the two museums, especially regarding Holocaust programmes.
  • Ambassador Alfred Moses, Special Envoy of the U.S.A. in Cyprus and Honorary President of the Jewish American Committee.

2000

  • The Greek Archbishop, Mr. Christodoulos.
  • Participants in the international meeting “Jews in Islamic Lands and in the Balkans: the XIX and XX Centuries until the Foundation of the State of Israel”.

  • 35 students from the Department of Greek Culture of the University of New York.
  • Ms. Marilyn Henry, a journalist for the Jerusalem Post of New York.
  • Mr. Brewster Chamberlin, Assistant Manager of the International Programmes of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
