On Tuesday, March 15, 2011, the 10th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities of Delphi organized the meeting "Education and Archaeology 2", concerning the educational activities of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi .
During his presentation, Mr. Grigoris Vafiadis (Ephorate for Antique Dealers and Private Collections) on "Intercultural museumsoperating in Greece. Opportunities to meet with other cultures" referred to the Jewish Museum of Greece, its work and programs, urging the teachers attending the meeting, to visit it with their students.
Our museum was represented at the meeting by Mrs Orietta Treveza, museum educator, who gladly responded to the questions and queries of the attendees. It is important to mention that there many were those who showed a special interest in the JMG guided tours and educational programs as well as in the museum cases.
The aim of the meeting was to inform teachers on museum education and to exchange views between archaeologists and teachers in a fruitful dialogue, with the ultimate objective to enhance the educational and social role of the museum and on the other hand, to activate the school community for the protection of our cultural heritage.
