Joint activity on International Museums Day 2012
 
“Athens: Neighborhoods and Museums”
Meet the people behind the Network of Museums
and Cultural Institutions

 

On International Museums Day, the «Network of Museums and Cultural Institutions of the Historical Centre of Athens»invites you to discover the Network Institutions, located in the neighborhoods of Athens, and their people in a joint activity entitled “Athens : Neighborhoods and Museums” to be held from Friday 11 May to Sunday 27 May.

For the duration of this activity, participants are invited to visit 17 Network Institutions, in order to answer a question posed by each one, on a special form available gratis. 

Many of the institutions that charge an admission fee, offer discounted or half price tickets to visitors participating in this  common event, while on Friday 18 May, admission to all Museums will be free.

The 17 visits may be made during the opening hours of each Museum.
 
The relevant forms will be available   on Friday 11 May , 10:00-20:00 and on Saturday 12 May , 10:00- 18:00 from B. and M. Theocharakis Institutefor the Fine Arts and Music, 9 Vassilissis Sofias Avenue&1 Merlin Street, Athens and from Sunday onwards, they will be available from all institutions.
 
The activity will be completed on Sunday 27 May at 19:30 in the courtyard of the Exile Museum 31 Agion Asomaton Street, Thisio,Athens. There, all visitors who will have completed the special form, will have the opportunity to participate in an event with the representatives of the Network Institutions, meet them in person, talk with them and attend a musical performance of songs and tunes from all over Greece by the students of theMuseumof Greek Folk Musical Instruments Fivos Anoyanakis' Collection.
